Crunch Time

These next few weeks are going to be so surreal. Currently, (twice a day) I am quizzing Elliot on the 11 General Orders and everything in the Helmsman. I have made him notecards on almost every inch of that book haha.

This is my last week before my vacation week off with him. Then he leaves on the 5th. Ladies, this is crunch time to say the least.

We were talking last night and realized we haven’t been away from each other for more than 2 weeks in the (almost) 3 years we’ve been together. 

He’s my best friend, my lover, my boyfriend, and my roommate. And this whole thing is going to be hard. And we know it.

But I am so proud of him. And I am beyond ready for the next step in our lives.

Bring on the writer’s callus, baby! This love is about to go old school.

Update on my Coastie!

Okay, so… Elliot leaves for bootcamp on June 5th. (It’s that time already?!) He’s starting to get anxious since his last day of work is today (he’s taking a month off to prepare for BC). 

Our lives are so up in the air right now. We have one more week of school…then he leaves and I start working full time. We can’t seem to get on schedule and I don’t want to stress before he leaves. I just want to enjoy him and enjoy our life in this moment. 

If anyone has any tips on what to do before he leaves or even after he leaves, shoot me a reply. ?

We find out if he’s in this WEEK!

Elliot talked to one of his buddies who is a recruiter and he said the CSPI acceptance letters should be in the mail this week…

HOLY HELL, this is it! The final stretch until we find out if he’s in the Coast Guard! I’m so excited for him! 

He also talked to some of his friends and he will most likely be leaving the first week in June for bootcamp! 

Everything is coming together… His hard work and our determination is finally going to be paid off.

HE’S ALMOST IN!!!!!!!!!

Elliot got accepted into Morehouse College, where he will be a minority and qualify for the COAST GUARD CSPI PROGRAM!

Now, all he has to do is make it through his interview and HE’S IN!!!!!!!!

My boyfriend is not only charismatic, but a GREAT public speaker! It’s in the BAG!

It really sucks that not only do very few people know anything about the Coast Guard but the Coast Guard CSPI program* is unheard of. Besides forums and recruitment offices, my wonderful boyfriend has been doing this completely on his own. While working on his packet, he is going to school full time (working on transferring soon to a new one) and working part time. I wish I knew how to ease his worries. Worries about getting into his new college, getting into this program, making it through bootcamp this summer, changing his life forever in the matter of a few months. What am I supposed to do to help him? It’s like cold feet and there’s nothing I can do. I feel useless. :(
